Position Title Fish Hatchery- Student Assistant
Subcode Hatch
Function Assist the fisheries technician in the caring for fish and performing other duties on the fish hatchery, including: Feeds, grades, and collects eggs from wild and hatchery fish; Cares for fry and fingerlings.
  • Record and maintain information on fish production, pond records, feed, water quality, mortalities, etc.; 
  • Inventory and loads fish for harvest and transfer; 
  • Assist in construction and repair of hatchery equipment, including ponds, cages, feeders, pumps, power tools, etc.
  • Maintain grounds, including lawn, shrubs, roads, trails, etc.
  • Assist with public relations, tours, etc.
