What is Federal Work Study?
Federal Work Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study. Students who have demonstrated unmet financial need are eligible for FWS and will received an 'Estimated' award. The estimated award demonstrates the total amount of FWS funds you can earn over your periods of enrollment. Students might have eligibility for the award but not awarded. The reason is there are limited funds available. Therefore, if you receive notification of your 'estimated' award, it is important that you accept this award immediately. Any funds not utilized from the initial award will be reallocated for other students to take advantage of this opportunity.
