The Hocking College Art Gallery will feature a solo artist photography exhibition featuring Tim Creamer beginning on October 31, 2014 with an opening reception from 6-9 p.m. during Nelsonville Historic Square Final Friday event.
The exhibit will feature modern photography created with iPhone 4/5s apps including Hipstamatic, iColorama and Snapseed. With technological innovation, artists no longer need a "real' camera to develop and portray their work. The accessibility of the iPhone and its apps allow instant sharing and feedback from fellow artists through social media sites.
Artist Tim Creamer states that his inspiration for his art came when he was introduced to a Facebook group, "Tintype Hipstamatic," which features works created using Tintype filter pack in any combination.
"Just as important as creating images, this community offers feedback and encouragement. Social media is a boon to my creative process, as I no longer work in a creative vacuum. I find myself pushing the limits as other international artists in this group are now doing; we show, share, and encourage each other. This body of work is a testament to this process," Creamer said.
The exhibition runs through November 2, 2014. The Hocking College Art Gallery is located at 30 Public Square in Nelsonville and is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12-5 p.m.
