Through the Perkins Grant process, Hocking College's School of Arts, Business and Information Technology has received the funding of six Perkins Mini-grants.

Three grants were awarded to the Information Technology area. One grant will upgrade and modernize equipment of the Cisco Networking Academy by providing hardware such as wireless access points and a wireless management station. Another grant will provide a new leanlinux server to be used in multiple classrooms to make computer work modern, faster and more reliable. The final grant awarded to I.T. will purchase laptops and virtualization software that will be used in server and security labs that require specialized capabilities and configurations. These exercises will help prepare students for more real-world scenarios and issues.

Art, Design and Marketing also received two awards. One award was for new oxygen generators for the flameworking classes that will lower the college's carbon footprint.  The other award will pay for new pottery wheels for the ceramics classes.

Cheryl Stewart also received an award for the Early Childhood Education program to provide iPads to enhance learning for students by exposing them to relevant and educationally appropriate technologies that students in K-12 classrooms typically utilize.
