Hocking College's English as a Second Language (ESL) students have been quite busy this summer. The students visited a local honey producer, Jack Cantrell of Cantrell Honey, where they learned about honey production and bee cultivation. Then, the students spent a day picking their first strawberries at Vest Berries.

Lastly, the ESL students volunteered during the My Neighbor's Keeper Fundraiser Bike Tour on July 21 in Athens County. They worked at the break stops and the bicyclists were very appreciative of their help. The bike tour raised $945 and all proceeds will purchase gift certificates from the Athens and Nelsonville Farmers' Markets to be distributed to emergency food providers who will use the gift certificates to assist their clients.
