Nine students and Giles Lee, Director of Co-curricular Activities, traveled to Staten Island to help the Bawatnehs, a family whose house was badly damaged by the hurricane. The group left Hocking College on Friday, November 16 and returned Sunday, November 18.
Hurricane Sandy made landfall near Atlantic City, N.J., on Oct. 29, but many are still unable to return to their homes like the Bawatnehs. Lee and the students helped the family strip the interior of their home down to the frame so they can begin rebuilding it.
