Gary Edwards, 52, Nelsonville resident and owner of Pit Stop Drive Thru in Nelsonville, has been appointed by Governor John Kasich to a three-year term on the Hocking College Board of Trustees. Edwards' term began Tuesday, September 18 and will conclude on August 26, 2015. Edwards will be sworn into office at the September 25 Board of Trustees meeting.
Edwards is a 1978 graduate of Nelsonville-York High School and a Hocking College graduate with an Associate of Business degree. He served nine years as a Nelsonville-York School Board Member and was president of the Nelsonville Charter Commission in 1993.
"I welcome the opportunity to get involved and help out any way I can. I know how important Hocking College is to our community," Edwards commented to The Athens Messenger.
The Hocking College Board is comprised of nine members, three of which are Governor appointees.
