Two vacant trustee positions at Hocking College were filled November 3, 2011 by a caucus of local boards of education presidents from Athens, Hocking and Perry counties. The caucus appointed Darlene Wells of Perry County and Andrew Stone of Athens County. The appointees will officially join the board at their meeting on November 29, 2011.
The caucus reviewed eight applications for the two open positions and ultimately selected Wells and Stone. Wells is the Deputy Chief Information Officer and Executive Program Manager for the Office of Information Technology for the State of Ohio. Stone is the Director of Public Works and City Engineer for the City of Athens.
The Hocking College Board of Trustees consists of nine members, three appointed by the Governor of the State of Ohio, and six appointed by the caucus.
