About 65 ninth grade girls from six area high schools took part in "We Are IT" last week on campus. Linda Howard, Tech-Prep director, said the girls learned about Information Technology careers, a field that is primarily dominated by men.
Through hands-on presentations by Getachew Boru, Amy Shaner, Melissa Adkins, Mark Yanko, Harry Tompkins, Ben Dalton, Derek Bobo, Larry Hatem and Tony Camechis, the students gained insight into a wide variety of careers in Information Technology as well as the skills and training needs of each. Cathy Evans represented Tri-County Career Center.
