An integrated education program for students, staff and faculty, the Drug and Alcohol Awareness Program (DAAP) Team’s goal is to provide accurate information about the risks and effects of drugs, alcohol and tobacco. This information is aimed at helping students, staff and faculty become more aware of issues at the college, in the community and the Nation.
The Department of Students Rights, Responsibilities & Judicial Affairs (George Petrovay) and the Alcohol and Drug Dependency Counseling Program (Dr. Guy Taylor) have joined together with a group of students to discredit the myths held by many college students and demystify the use of controlled substances. Using best practice methods and innovative teaching methods, the DAAP Team hopes to reach every student during their time at Hocking College so they can make educated decisions about the choices and consequences of using drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
