The first annual Border Battles Basketball Tournament was held on Saturday, February 19, 2011. Six West Virginia and Ohio college teams participated. The tournament was hosted by West Virginia University of Parkersburg (WVUP) and was held at Parkersburg High School.  Hocking College defeated Washington State Community College 72 to 43 in the first round and then defeated Eastern Gateway Community College in a thrilling overtime victory, 98 to 96.  Hocking College advanced to the championship game but was edged out by the host of the tournament, WVUP.  Hocking College finished as champions of the Ohio division and runner-up in the overall tournament.  The trophy and team photo is on display in the Student Center lobby. Way to go Hawks!
