Hocking College music professors Mike Eubanks and Josh Antonuccio took a group of students on an exciting trip to the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference in Austin, Texas from March 15 to 21, 2011.
According to the website, the festival offers the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and upcoming technologies.
A highlight of the trip was listening to keynote speakers Yoko Ono, and Live Aid organizer Bob Geldoff. Students also had the opportunity to gain useful insight from music and technology industry insiders.
“All I can say is ‘Wow!’ South by Southwest was by far the best trip I have ever been on. It was so awesome to dedicate four days of my life just to music. I saw so many great shows and learned so much about the industry,” Jesse Mitten, music student, said.
