Professors Megan Cameron and George Hertzel led a choir of Hocking College students to two successful performances as back-up vocalists for legendary rock musician Todd Rundgren’s tour.

On March 30, 2011, Rundgren and the choir performed at the Stranahan Theater in Toledo. Hertzel used his long relationship with Rundgren to offer the students this rare opportunity. The choir was treated to a catered dinner, and was well taken care of by the theater staff. Their performance was seamless and Hertzel commented on how proud he was of their representation of Hocking College.

The students’ final performance was on April 1, 2011 at the historic Southern Theater in Columbus. Their performance earned acclaim by both Rundgren and the sold-out audience.  The students are aspiring musicians, audio engineers, technicians, producers and writers.

The following students represented the College:  Alison DiCarlo, Jennica Haller, Kym Henry, Alexandra Homegardner, Natalie Launer, Tamisha Nuckols, Kelsie Ross, Amber Stilson, Miguel Abad, Jon Hull, Ian Malachai, David Potts and Chris Vaught. Music Faculty Megan Cameron, Jesse Heetland and George Hertzel were also part of the ensemble.
