Dr. Jacalyn R. Osborne was selected to serve as Interim President of Hocking College by the Hocking College Board of Trustees at their monthly meeting July 26, 2011.
Dr. Osborne was chosen from a pool of three finalists for the position, and will begin as Hocking College Interim President on August 1, 2011. Osborne was employed on an interim basis with the College last year, working with administrative projects.
“I welcome the opportunity to return to Hocking College to help further the College’s mission of providing an innovative, and quality education in a supportive experience-based learning environment,” Osborne said.
Throughout her career, Osborne has served in many different capacities in school administration and leadership. Her current position is fiscal consultant with the Ohio Department of Education (ODE), Area #6 in Athens. Prior to joining the ODE, Osborne was the Director of Operations, the Director of Human Resource Services and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Lancaster City Schools. She was previously the Superintendent of Nelsonville-York City Schools.
Osborne has a doctorate in Educational and Administration and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction Supervision, both from Ohio University. She is actively involved in the community. Dr. Osborne has served on the Board of the Fairfield Heritage Association, is involved with TWIG on behalf of the Fairfield Medical Foundation, and is the past Scholarship Committee Chair of the Fairfield County Foundation Board.
